New Carafe & Table @ DWR

I'm on the look out for a dining room table for a possible new dining area in a possible new home.  I already have an idea of what the floors will look like, black & white or red & white checkered.  With the checkered floor with these types of colors I imagine a simple, two-toned dining table.  I was thinking to have my fiancee custom make the table having resided to believing that such a table did not exist and then I was perusing through DWR last night and found this table!

Let me first begin by saying I have this thing, it's not quite a phobia but it's just as annoying as one.  The thing has to do with cups of water, cups of juice, cups of tea.. cups of any kind of liquid!  And the thing is that it can't be sitting out for too long, too long being more than 4-5 hours, if so I need to empty out the cup and refill it, because the thing is dust and particles settle into my cup.  So I have this thing and it annoyingly fill me with a feeling of guilt that I'm wasting perfectly good water.  I suspect that's why when I saw DWR's I'm Boo Carafe with it's enclosed top and rather small spout water hole I was so very excited and felt that the carafe was made for someone just like me!

DWR's Wegner Coffee Table, Sawbuck & Era Round Arm with Cane Chairs

DWR's Wegner Coffee Table is gorgeous!  Okay okay, I get it, you're thinking how can she call something so simple gorgeous?  The simplicity of an all wood, round, three peg leg table IS gorgeous.  The table with all it's simplicity has a way of toning down any room and giving it an earthy feeling, this is one of the qualities of the table that I think is important.

clean lines, solid, and truly unique in design, the Sawbuck - Hallingdal is a new item of DWR's that IS DWR.  Every once in a while DWR will get in their collection a design that is/will be a life-long DWR associated product such as the Fabric Swan Chair, Egg Chair and Eames Lounger,  like these chairs I truly believe that this Sawbuck-Hallingdal chair will soon be listed as one of them.

DWR, Hot Items We Can't Afford But Don't Mind Ogling

Once a month or so I receive the DWR catalog, this time of the month usually resembles something close to that time of the month, if you know what I mean?  After all you can't really expect me not to be crabby to look at all these absolutely gorgeous items that seem to be way beyond what I can afford, maybe you yourself receive a catalog from DWR and react exactly the same way?  If you do, you know that no matter how much it aggravates you to see these beautifully unique items you'd die to have for prices you can't even dream to pay you'd still flip through that catalog... and yes, I know, you'd still walk into that DWR store to take a look around.

Having said that, let's take a look at two items from the DWR Collection I thought worth mentioning,  with of course no actual purchasing in mind.

SAYL Task Chair $399 or $499 (prices differ by color)

Materials:  Elastomer, steel, foam, 100% reycled polyester seat

A new DWR product by Yves Behar who lives in San Francisco, the SAYL Task chair  was designed with the Golden Gate Bridge in mind hence the name "SAYL" which originally would have been "Sail" had he not changed the "i" to a "Y" for the signature Y back structure of the chair.  The chair took 3 years to make and is 90% recyclable and comes with a warranty of 12 years.

The Sunflower Clock was first designed in the 1950's by George Nelson and was later reproduced due to it's popularity by Vitra Design Museum.  A vintage design that keeps ahead of the times is truly something unique and amazing, at a price of over $1,000- I hate to say it, but it looks well worth it.
