AWESOME FEATURE:  ADHESIVE BACKING

As with any home housing a techi, and that seems to be virtually everyone these days, the inevitable outcome seems to be a tangle of wires.  Concentrated locations of of nests of wires?  Behind the television a.k.a media console area and underneath the computer desk a.k.a. office-space area, now if you're lucky it stops here, however if you're not... well then, you will also find nests of wires near your children's electric guitar and amp a.k.a. music area, in the kitchen where there just happens to be that one plug on that one wall.

I suffer from a tangled mess of wires underneath, sadly to say, my computer desk and the media console of course.  Until the day comes when everything is wireless, and that day isn't coming fast enough, I will just have to figure it out myself.  And that, is how I ended up on The Container Store site looking for ways to organize my life in the least organizable spaces.

The Color-Coded Book Shelf

I have a library collection in the making and though it doesn't contain quite as many books as I would like there are still plenty to handle.  And while I've organized them by genre and author I've never thought of organizing them by color!  I'm fascinated with this new idea of color-coded books, in this logical brain of mine I wonder if it will make it hard or even impossible to find the book I'm looking for, or maybe it will be easier for me to find depending on how familiar I am with my book covers, I've come to the conclusion that it can really go either way 50/50.  But I think it worth a try even simply to see how much I would like the looks of it, after all, who doesn't like to organize?

Things over-looked are NOT over-looked @ Modcloth

Bike on a Hot Tin Sign @ Modcloth

I recently went over to a house-warming party of a friend of mine who just bought his first home, being the tree-hugging kind of guy he is he doesn't own a vehicle and instead bikes around town.  His bicycle was parked and locked in front of the open garage, when I saw this I suggested to him to get his own bike rack and thought how cute that would be, then I saw this Bike on a Hot Tin Sign at Modcloth.

I own a couple of bicycles and park it in my mudroom, I know exactly where this sign is going.

Ready, Set, To-Go Menu Organizer @ Modcloth

In my kitchen I have a designated junk drawer full of take-out menus, they're usually thrust into the drawer with not a care in the world resulting in crumpled and now a hard to open drawer, as a result of this chaos I took out one of my old school binders and made a to-go menu folder.  It really was a great idea but it also took a little bit of time since I wanted the to-go menus organized geographically, Chinese, Mexican, Italian, American and such.

If you've got the same to-go menu drawer issue but don't have the time to put the binder together yourself look to Modcloth who didn't overlook this problem.

Items Of Note: Mod Cloth Electric Garden Charging Station

Mod Cloth Electric Garden Charging Station $24.99

Working all day can be tiring and the last thing you want to do is accidentally chip and scratch surfaces or your gadgets when you take them out of your pockets and ever so lightly throw them on to your desk.  That's exactly what the Electric Garden Charging Station is for.  Lay your gadgets to charge or rest on the nice green grass and you'll save the angst that comes with nicks and scratches that can seem more than just 'a little bit of angst' at the end of a work day.

Hide cords underneath the grass to keep the mess out of view

The Closet

Every girl dreams of a nice big walk-in closet, and boys?... I'm sure they wouldn't mind one either even if it isn't the first on their list.  When it comes to storing clothes people rarely ever think outside the box, why this is I have no idea, maybe the idea of the "closet" has been strongly engraved into our culture.  Maybe if we were able to think outside the box of what a "closet" really is: simply a designated place of storage then we would be able to begin by thinking outside the square and into the circle.

For example... if you have ample space in your bedroom why not set aside 1/3 or even 1/2 the bedroom as closet space, using shelving or divider walls to create a closet space for yourself, and set aside your actual "closet" space as something else?  Take off the doors of the closet and let it be the wall for your bed- I'm sure you can think of creative things to do with the "closet" nook! - This is what I call thinking outside the box, making your space WORK FOR YOU, not the other way around.

And for inspiration, pictures of course!

Below are pictures of closet space that are actually part of the room itself.

This is a good idea for a shelving unit that also serves as a divider wall if planning
to use part of the room as closet space.

Below are GRAND closet spaces that are separate rooms in themselves, one can dream.

Below are normal large closet spaces we can hope to have one day ourselves.

Famous closets....

Kim Cattrall's closet

The hall closet of Sex And The City.

TIP:  One doesn't need a large closet to have a nicely organized closet space just remember: leave room between items and don't stack items on top of each other- this will greatly enhance the clean and organized look in your closet.  If you do need to stack, stack on the floor of your closet and if you can help it put them in boxes first (nice one's if you have them), and above all else... don't hang anything on the closet door, inside or out, mirrors may be forgivable depending on the quality of the mirror.

Spring is just around the corner may be a little closet clean up is in order?
