An Inside Look Into A New Mexican Home

My past five Christmas' have been spent at a friend's home in Los Alamos, New Mexico.  Every year I come here for a week or so during this time year.  The food is out of this world, the scenery is beautiful and it snows, all these things make me a very happy person during Christmas.

His family owns a home on a mesa flanked on both sides, front and back, by beautiful canyons.  Unlike homes in California, most structures in New Mexico are built in the likeness of the traditional New Mexican adobe homes.

The canyon, front of the house.
The canyon, back of the home (a view from his back deck).

I've taken pictures of the home and wanted to share them with you in the hopes that you'll enjoy them and find interesting decoration ideas.

Welcome!

The front entrance lined with windows has a wooden bench and silver mirror embellished with bronze flowers.

The kitchen looks out into the front entrance hallway lined with windows.
Thought the hanging iron skillet and bottle opener gave the kitchen a
charming rustic vibe.

Living-room fireplace with shag rug to appeal to the buns.

Another example of rustic charm, a bookshelf in the office.

A closer look at the items that adorn the bookshelf.

Thanks for stopping by!
